Pop Tops

One of the many sweetest gifts we've recently received is the donation of soda can Pop Tops from our church here in Waco, University Baptist Church.

Since the day Bennett was admitted to the NICU in Temple, our church began collecting these soda tabs to raise money for our stay at the Ronald McDonald House (RMH).*  The idea came from the well-known RMH fundraiser.

On Sunday, back at church for the first time, we walked right past this darling jar with Bennett's picture and name on it.  At first, we didn't know what it was - but it caught our eye as we recognized the picture.

When we saw what it was, we were so humbled.  It melted our hearts to know that Bennett was being remembered at our church the entire 8 weeks we were absent.

The church collected more than TWENTY POUNDS of soda tabs!!  This is just a sample of all of the soda tabs that were collected.

Two things are clear from this venture:
1.)   UBC members drink a lot of soda! :)
2.) Our church is very loving.

*The Ronald McDonald House asks for a $10 donation per night from its guests.  However, if this is a financial burden for any family, this request is waived.

  1. Wow. What an great way for your church to support you guys. And what an amazing testimony of their love. Thanks for sharing this.
