Day 4 - Pictures

Bennett, 4 days old.

Bennett's swelling has gone down significantly.  That is why he is continuing to lose weight.  We hope they will measure Bennett soon so we can find out just how big he is.

One of the greatest things that happened today was that Breck found out she is able to provide breast milk for Bennett.  Despite many tries, she was unable to nurse Oliver.   However, by the grace of God, she is going to be able to do it this time.   The nurses were ecstatic as they said breast milk is so much better tolerated by a child like Bennett - a baby whose digestive organs are damaged.  So, God provided the "liquid gold" just in time for the sick baby who needs it most.

Here is one of Bennett's many sleeping positions.  We think he's trying to hide the light from his eyes.

Sleeping on his left side.  Bennett has a lot of junk in his right lung so they hope by positioning him on his left side that this will clear.

  1. That bottle makes me thrilled beyond words. Truly. I'm so glad to hear that the swelling is going down. Someone needs to get that little guy some shades! Love to all of you!

  2. I wondered if you would be able to nurse. I'm so thrilled you can! I know it was hard for you to not be able to with Oliver. This is great news! I know it will be great for both you and Bennett.

  3. So many blessings!! Love you guys :)
