Day 18 - Pictures

Look what we saw when we walked in to see Bennett tonight...

We were so excited! Bennett no longer needs an isolet or radiant warmer. Since he is now able to regulate his heat on his own and has fewer cords, he has graduated to a NICU crib.

We talked to the Medical Resident caring for Bennett to understand why they had moved Bennett and she said, "We are treating Bennett like a normal baby except that we are monitoring his heartrate and still IV feeding him." We thought, "did she say "a normal baby"?!  Such words were like music to our ears.

Bennett, his Pals and his Paci

Daddy feeds Bennett for the first time.

Bennett was given 12 ml of breastmilk tonight.  This is up from the 5 ml he was given two nights ago.  Bennett currently weighs 7 lbs and 3 oz, down from the 7 lbs 11oz he weighed at birth.

  1. YAY!!!! So happy to hear that he's moving up :) And it's wonderful to see him eating so well, too! I love being able to see his face unobstructed :)

  2. This is AWESOME!!! Go Bennett!

  3. Hooray for the big boy bed! How awesome! Do you have any idea how much longer it will be before he can come home?
