Bennett's Brigade Meets California

Saturday, September 21, 2013

As our sweet friend Keight said it best:
"Bennett's Brigade has officially crossed the country!"

This morning, my sorority sisters Keight and Kerry, along with 9 of Kerry's co-workers (all nurses with huge hearts), laced up their sneakers and put on their Bennett's Brigade T-shirts to walk for Cystic Fibrosis at the Great Strides for Cystic Fibrosis Walk in Santa Cruz, California.

And can I just tell you how much they raised to help us find a cure for Bennett??

Pictured: Jen, Bonnie, Keight, Charis, Kerry, Jackie, Angie, Kimmie, Danielle, Beth and Kate
It was a rainy fall day in Santa Cruz today, which Keight explained was great "because it has been hot lately and coastal folks can't take the heat out here. :)"  Despite a cool and cozy morning, the Santa Cruz crew enjoyed watching the waves crash as they walked along.

And can I just tell you how much they raised to help us find a cure for Bennett???

Kerry's son Quentin enjoys a Bennett's Brigade cookie (our little way of saying thanks to the group since we couldn't be there)!  Kerry said the cookies were a hit, especially for her.  She said the cookie kept Quentin in the stroller. :)

...well, for a little while. :)  Of course, the Great Strides for Cystic Fibrosis Walk is a Walk, even for the tiniest feet.

And can I just tell you how much they raised to help us find a cure for Bennett????

Kappa Deltas Kerry and Keight - two girls who helped make this happen!!

Thank you to all of those who gave so generously to help our son - most of those whom I don't even know personally.  Please know Brian and I are so so very thankful for you: Elizabeth, Giana, Theresa, K8, Greg and Sam, Jen, Beth and Juan, Karen, Ashley, Julie, Kimmie, Catherine, Andrea, Kimberly, Charis, Brian, Jo Ann, Karen, Cheryl, Jennifer, Jackie, Andra, Danielle, and Elizabeth.

THANK YOU!!!!!

In It For Bennett: Keight's son Sawyer and Kerry's son Quentin, two of Bennett's biggest supporters from across the US - little boys with Mamas who are pretty darn amazing. :)  Love you Kerry!!  Love you Keight!!

Avonlea: 1 Month Old

Thursday, September 5, 2013

Our sweet girl turned one month old on August 25th.

She is still pretty tiny but is growing strong.  At one month old she is starting to focus and holding up her head.

To her mama, Avonlea is adorable, even when she cries.  That little lip gets me every time.  She sounds like a baby bird every time she cries.  :)

This outfit just cracks me up.  Avonlea is just a living baby doll!  Brian said she looks like 40 year old teacher here - ha! :)

Most people think Avonlea looks so much like Oliver.  But as she gets bigger we have begun to hear people think she looks like Bennett too.  It's hard for us to tell.

 Sleepy girl.

Avonlea is such a peaceful baby.  And she is loves to be cuddled!

Big brother Oliver wanted to crawl up in the chair and hold her.

We love this little one!  Happy one month birthday, sweet girl!
